Chapter Thirty-Three: Troop Training

Jiaodui means using horns to hit people. This method originated in the Warring States Period, and its name began in the Qin and Han Dynasties.

Sudo is a game in which two people compete against each other and compete with each other with fists, left and right. Some people also call it sumo wrestling. Although the name is different, the gameplay is the same.

In the army, wrestling once became one of the main training subjects for soldiers. Chongzhen improved it and renamed it "wrestling", replacing the traditional one-on-one format with a multi-person confrontation.

This idea originated from a kind of ball game remembered by Chongzhen's later generations, that is, twelve players from each side played against each other. Each team was divided into seven as "vanguards", four as "defenders", and one as the "captain".

The vanguards of both sides stand facing each other, the captain stands behind the vanguard, the rearguards line up around the captain, and there is a "main formation" behind everyone.

The two sides attack and defend. The captain of the attacking team needs to hold the "General Order" and find a way to break through the defensive line of the defending soldiers. If he reaches the opponent's own formation, he wins. During the process, the "General Order cannot be dropped", but it can be passed to each other.

On the contrary, the defender only needs to stop the attacker holding the "General Order" before he reaches the formation. Regardless of whether he seizes the "General Order" or makes the person holding the "General Order" fall down, the defender will win.

This method seems simple, but in fact it implies the essence of military strategy. The number of twelve people coincides with the number of people in the usual mandarin duck formation. With such an ingenious design, it is no wonder that Jiang Xuan admired Chongzhen so much.

In order to prevent the soldiers from being injured, Jiang Xuan, Yang Boxian, and Song Xiance decided to go to the Dianjiang Terrace outside the city. There was a battlefield next to the Dianjiang Terrace, which was suitable.

Jiang Xuan led his servants to form a square area on the battlefield, and then used hemp ropes to create a center line in the field. The soldiers in the regiment training camp looked at it blankly.

Taking advantage of the gap in setting up the venue, Yang Boxian shouted to the crowd: "You guys separate into two teams and stand around, quickly."

Needless to say, the two gangs led by Hu Mazi and Zhao Adi stood apart. Hu Mazi and others knew the purpose of the battlefield, and vaguely guessed that what they would do later was probably related to the competition, so they looked at Zhao Adi with pride.

Public.

"You'll have to be smarter later and catch that guy named Zhao and beat him to death."

"I know, brother."

"Did you hear everything?"

....

Zhao Adi is in his early twenties. He has some skills in martial arts since he was a child. He is always willing to help others and has the style of an ancient knight, so he is well known to the people of this county.

Everyone in Yanggao County saw that the other party's eyes were not friendly. They were afraid that today's battle would be serious. They felt a little confused and asked Adi Zhao one after another.

"Brother, what should I do?"

"Don't panic, everyone, wait until we understand the situation."

"Okay, everyone is counting on you, brother."

Zhao Adi nodded and looked at the battlefield expressionlessly, not paying attention to Hu Mazi's provocation.

Yang Boxian took a hollow bamboo Juju from Song Xiance. Everyone knows this thing. Could it be that we are going to play Cuju today?

Hu Mazi looked disappointed. It would be difficult to beat that boy if he played Cuju.

Yang Bo first raised the hollow Ju and said: "The object in my hand is called General Order. Zhao Adi took it."

Zhao Adi took the thrown ball and held it in his hand.

Uncle Yang couldn't explain the next thing clearly, but Jiang Xuan had almost finished the arrangements, so he came over to announce the rules to everyone.

"Did you see that chair? That's our formation." Jiang Xuan pointed to the chairs placed in the distance.

"Sir, I have a question." Zhao Adi asked.

"you say."

"Does sitting on a chair count as a touchdown?"

"No, if you touch the chair, the touchdown will be the winner."

Jiang Xuan saw Zhao Adi nodding and stopped asking questions, and asked Hu Mazi and others: "Do you have any questions?"

Hu Mazi grinned and said: "If you tell me back to the general, it's just a horn, we are not like those chicks, hahaha."

"Hahahahaha." Everyone behind Hu Mazi laughed. Everyone in Yanggao couldn't help but cursed when they were insulted, but Zhao Adi stopped them.

Jiang Xuan was accustomed to this, and seeing that everyone had no problems, he asked the two gangs to start with twelve people. Hu Mazi and others were responsible for the defense of Group A, and Zhao Adi and others were responsible for the attack of Group B.

Hu Mazi brought his cronies to the stage, but Zhao Adi thought deeply for a long time and couldn't choose a candidate. For this, he was ridiculed by Hu Mazi who was passing by.

It was almost dusk, and time waited for no one. At Yang Boxian's urging, Zhao Adi gathered his team.

The vanguards Zhao Adi chose were all farmers who usually did heavy work, and the rearguard chose porters with fast feet.

Under Jiang Xuan's command, the two teams, A and B, stood in formation, with the vanguards of both sides facing each other, and the defenders surrounding the captain.

Yang Boxian and Song Xiance led the rest of the people who were not on stage to watch the show.

"Sir Song, who do you think will win?" Yang Boxian said with great interest.

"Where is it? Master Yang just calls me Xiao Song. I guess Hu Mazi's team wins."

While the two were talking, they could only hear the sound of gongs in the ring, signaling the official start of the wrestling match.

"Charge!" Hu Mazi shouted, leading the Zhou people to rush forward, with only Adi Zhao in his eyes.

The vanguards on both sides grappled with each other. In terms of strength, the old pawn might not be as strong as the peasants, but after all, the old pawn had rich experience and skills. With a little skill, he retreated backwards, and his opponent lost his center of gravity and fell to the ground.

Yanggao County's vanguard line was defeated after three strikes, five divided by two, but the fallen farmers still held the legs of the old soldiers to prevent them from advancing.

"Brother, run quickly!"

After all, this was Zhao Adi's first time. The opponent roared and charged at him, as if he was charging on a real battlefield. He was a little confused and couldn't remember any of the strategies he had thought about before.

Awakened by the shouts of his companions, Zhao Adi ran wildly with General Ling Saya in his arms, trying to bypass the opponent's vanguard and rush over from the right wing.

The four porters also ran with Adi Zhao. Seeing this, Hu Mazi shouted: "Right wing, right wing, catch that kid!"

After roaring, he led his defender in the direction Zhao Adi was running, trying to block him.

The vanguard of Group A also broke free from the clutches of the people on the ground and followed Zhao Adi. Together with the defenders led by Hu Mazi, they formed an encirclement with double-teams.

Zhao Adi held General Ling in his arms and just ran away. It felt like his legs were about to float, and slowly they really floated. The scene in front of him kept spinning, and he felt like he was rolling somersaults in the sky.

With a "bang", Zhao Adi fell heavily to the ground, and the hollow ju had already fallen into Hu Mazi's hands.

"Hoo" the people in Group A whistled, and Hu Mazi flashed his strong arms at his own people, "You little bastard, if you dare to go against Uncle Hu, I will kill your mother."

The people from Group B quickly ran to Zhao Adi, and Jiang Xuan also walked up quickly, but he did not look at Zhao Adi, but announced that Group A had won.

"General, look, what's there to compare with this? These mud legs are so useless." Hu Mazi said in a sinister tone.

"Those from Group B, do you still want to compete?" Jiang Xuan shouted.

Zhao Adi on the ground did not move for a long time. Team B lost its backbone. The team members looked at each other and didn't know what to answer.

"Bi..." Zhao Adi slowly raised his body up with both hands and responded to Jiang Xuan in a low voice. The team members quickly helped him.

Jiang Xuan nodded to Adi Zhao, as if in recognition, and then ordered everyone to return to the field to compete.

Holding the general's order, he stood in the team again and looked at Hu Mazi across from him. The dull pain in his chest made it difficult for Zhao Adi to breathe.

Wiping the blood from his nose with his sleeve, Zhao Adi whispered to a guard next to him: "Old Dong, you will..."

After hearing this, the man gave a deep hum and asked Zhao Adi if his injury was okay.

"It doesn't matter, remember to look into my eyes!"

The gong rang and the second game began. The pioneers of Group B seemed to be crazy this time. They hugged the waist of the pioneers of Group A and refused to let go. The failure in the previous game and the ridicule of Hu Mazi and others successfully aroused them.

The fierceness.

"Ahhhhh!" the vanguard of Group B shouted wildly, no matter what the opponent did, he would never let go, even now!

Zhao Adi once again swept towards the opponent's right wing. Hu Mazi laughed and cursed: "This fool, here he comes again."

When everyone in Group A was paying attention to Zhao Adi, a defender named Lao Dong took the opportunity to run wildly from the left.

"Interesting." Jiang Xuan clenched his chin and looked at the old Dong running past.

Hu Mazi and others were getting closer and closer, and when they saw that they could knock this kid away again just like in the previous game, Zhao Adi jumped up high, grabbed the general with his right hand and threw it hard.

The hollow bow symbolizing the general drew a parabola high and flew behind Hu Mazi.

Hu Mazi came back and shouted: "Oops!"

"Old Dong, catch it!" Zhao Adi shouted at the top of his lungs.

Old Dong looked up at the flying black object and ran with all his strength. He pulled the hem of his clothes with both hands and spread it open, trying desperately to adjust his speed and try to catch it.

"Pah!" Hollow Ju fell steadily into Lao Dong's arms and was caught in his clothes.

"run!"

"run!"

The Yanggao people on the sidelines shouted wildly, and even Yang Boxian was infected. He ordered Lao Dong to run towards the formation quickly.

Old Dong raised his waist and walked quickly, with only the seats representing his formation in his eyes.

Seeing that he was only one step away from touching the seat, when everyone in Group A stopped chasing, Old Dong twisted his right ankle and squatted down in pain. The general in his arms rolled to the ground, and the general fell to the ground.

Fang wins.

"If we lose, we still have one bad move." Zhao Adi collapsed on the ground.

Lao Dong rolled on the sand with his right foot in his arms, tears streaming down his face from the pain. Besides the pain, what made him even more sad was the failure. He was just one step away...

Thinking of this, Old Dong raised his head and looked at Kong Xinju in the distance with great shame.

The hollow ju was picked up by a man who bent down. The man's red robe was embroidered with a golden dragon, shining brightly in the dusk.

Since it was a wrestling match arranged by Chongzhen, how could he not be there in person? He hurried over as soon as he finished handling the things at hand.

Chongzhen handed the Ju to Lao Dong and said: "Take it, you win."

Lao Dong took over and cheered, "We won!"

"We won!" The voices on the battlefield continued.
